How to Clean the Inside of your Car Like a Pro

The inside of your cra needs as much cleaning as the exterior and often it needs more. Dirt, debris, and dust can accumulate in the car and leave a film. Often there’s garbage left on the floor or other items that end up cluttering the vehicle. Here’s how you can clean your car interior like a pro.

Remove Everything
Before you can clean the interior of your car you need to remove everything from inside the vehicle. Take out the garbage can if you have one and empty out the cup holder as well as the glove box and other areas of the interior. Remove the mats as well because these will need cleaning too. Check under the seats as coins and other small items may be here.

Dust
Before you clean the interior you need to remove the dust so you can use a duster for this or just wipe down the dash board with a damp cloth. Avoid using detergents because this can leave marks on the interior. Once you have removed all the dust you might want to use a polish that specifically designed for the interior of the vehicle.  You will only need a little bit to give a bit of shine to the dashboard.

Windshield
A mild solution of vinegar and water is best to clean the interior windshield. The smell of the vinegar will go away after a while or you can follow it up with a bit of Windex if you like. The vinegar will dissolve a lot of the oils of the windshield and make it easier to get streak free. Take your time with the windows as streaks can be a problem with interior windows, you’ll need some elbow grease to get everything clean.

Vacuuming
A small vacuum or hand-held vacuum is enough to get the carpets clean in the car and you can vacuum the seats too. Try to get under the seats as well for a full cleaning.  Make sure you wipe down the seats with a soft rag and a bit of polish that’s designed for the interior of your vehicle.

Mats
If your mats are plastic you can wash these down with a bit of soap and water. If they are carpeted you’ll want to vacuum them before you put the mats back in the vehicle. Before you clean the mats give them a good shake as this will get the debris out of the small pockets and other areas on the mat.
