Different Caravans You Can Buy

There are many different types of caravans you can buy. The type and style of caravan you buy will all depend upon your overall needs. Here are the main types of caravans you can buy on the market.

Standard
These caravans look a bit like a house and they have solid sides and a full frame. They have either acrylic or glass windows or a well-built door. These caravans have plenty of room inside and you can walk around freely inside the unit. These units are easy to use on a site and connect to the amenities that you need such as water, power, and drainage systems. They come with a toilet, shower, beds, kitchen, and an area for relaxation. They have everything you need for your adventures. You can put air conditioners on the roof or solar panels if you wish.

Pop-Top Caravans
These feature a roof that can be raised or lowered. There’s very little setup time with this type of caravan and the roof is either raised with easy life handles or gas struts. There’s a gusset that allows the roof to be raised or lowered but the interior is still protected from the elements. There’s usually zippered section in the caravan to keep out the bugs. Once the roof is raised there’s a lot of room in this type of caravan but here’s less cupboard space and the door is smaller. These weigh less than a standard unit with great air flow and ventilation.

Pop-Top Expandable Caravans
These are like a popup or standard caravan except there’s a little extra section that pops upin the unit for a sleeping quarters. Thesе expandable units give a sleeping space without the added towing length so thye are great if room is a concern for you.

Compact Caravans
These units are small and compact and they have a hard shell canvas. These are easy to setup and provide a decent amount of room although they don’t have near the space as a standard caravan. These can be towed by smaller vehicles and they provide good fuel efficiency for your vehicle due to their smaller size. These can provide just enough room for most trips for a couple and they are inexpensive too.

Fifth-Wheel Caravans
These are luxurious caravans that provide all the comforts that you require. These extend over the tow vehicle and they rest on plate that looks like a wheel so thye are called fifth wheel caravans because of this. These units are usually hauled by pickup trucks. There’s more living space in these caravans and they can have slide out sections for even more space.  These take up more room so check where you’re going to make sure thye will accept this type of unit. You can expect to pay a lot more for your spot as well.

Deciding What to Get
It’s entirely up to you to device what you want to get in terms of a caravan. Look at all the options and decide how much you will sue the unit and the total amount you want to spend. Don’t buy more than you need if you only plan to use it a few times because you’ll just waste money. Make sure you care for your caravan when not using it and store it properly during the winter months so you get years of life out of your unit.
